L’Eglise Adventiste du 7e jour<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019\u00c9glise adventiste se veut h\u00e9riti\u00e8re des mouvements de R\u00e9forme du XVIe si\u00e8cle et de R\u00e9veil du XIXe si\u00e8cle, dont elle partage les principales affirmations. Elle a rejoint en 2005 la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Protestante de France (F.P.F.). Cette minorit\u00e9 protestante pratique le culte le samedi. Elle a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 de nombreuses \u0153uvres dans le domaine de la sant\u00e9, de l\u2019\u00e9ducation, de l\u2019aide humanitaire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Petit point historique !<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Parti du W\u00fcrtemberg \u00e0 la fin du XVIII si\u00e8cle, un vaste R\u00e9veil proph\u00e9tique se d\u00e9veloppe dans toute l\u2019Europe, \u00e9migre en Angleterre et en Am\u00e9rique du Nord. Il provoque la multiplication de soci\u00e9t\u00e9s religieuses et missionnaires en Nouvelle Angleterre. Certains groupes se r\u00e9unissent dans l\u2019attente de la fin du monde et l\u2019esp\u00e9rance du retour du Christ.  (1782-1849), en \u00e9tudiant les proph\u00e9ties du livre biblique de Daniel, pr\u00e9dit ce retour pour l\u2019ann\u00e9e 1843 puis 1844. Apr\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e9chec de cette proph\u00e9tie, les croyants adventistes, rejet\u00e9s par leurs \u00c9glises d\u2019origine, se rassemblent autour de quelques leaders dont le pasteur James White. Son \u00e9pouse, 1827-1915), joue un grand r\u00f4le par ses proph\u00e9ties qui encouragent \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tude de la Bible, \u00e0 l\u2019organisation d\u00e9mocratique du mouvement contre les tentations de fanatisme et \u00e0 la pratique d\u2019une vie saine (abstinence de l\u2019alcool et du tabac, m\u00e9decine pr\u00e9ventive\u2026). Cette premi\u00e8re p\u00e9riode est une p\u00e9riode de conflit avec les \u00c9glises protestantes dont \u00e9taient issus les membres des communaut\u00e9s adventistes. Au travers de diff\u00e9rentes crises, le mouvement s\u2019amplifie et les \u00c9glises adventistes se d\u00e9veloppent aux \u00c9tats-Unis puis en Europe et sur les autres continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
